Sessa announced that its Board of Directors has approved $100,000 in grants through its Community Investment Program\u2019s fall round to eight local organizations. A total of 30 non-profits had requested nearly $400,000.\u00a0 Coast Central also supports its communities through sponsorship, college scholarship, and employee volunteer programs.<\/p>\n<p>Fall 2021 recipients include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>$25,000: North Fork Grange; <\/strong>rebuilding of water supply destroyed by the Monument Fire<\/li>\n<li><strong>$15,000: Ink People \u2013 MARZ Project<\/strong>; supplies for at-risk youth for art activities<\/li>\n<li>$<strong>13,500: Orleans Volunteer Fire Dept<\/strong>.; new generator, apparatus, and equipment<\/li>\n<li><strong>$13,000: Abbey of the Redwoods<\/strong>; upgrade of community Sea Goat Farm project<\/li>\n<li><strong>$10,000: Cooperation Humboldt<\/strong>; mini-garden supplies for low-income families<\/li>\n<li><strong>$9,800: Humboldt Period Project<\/strong>; drop-in menstrual supplies for impoverished women<\/li>\n<li><strong>$8,200: Salmon Creek Volunteer Fire Dept<\/strong>.; new critical volunteer firefighter gear<\/li>\n<li><strong>$5,500: Affordable Homeless Housing Alternatives<\/strong>; winter weather gear for homeless<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cIn difficult times, our communities come together to identify needs and collaborate toward good for all,\u201d Sessa stated. \u201cFrom those rebuilding from devastating fires to establishing self-sufficient gardens for fresh produce to providing our homeless with dry socks and rain gear, we are very grateful for local non-profits and those who volunteer for and support them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Coast Central Credit Union is the largest member-owned financial institution in the area, with $2.1 billion in assets, 75,000 members, and operating 11 Member Services Branches throughout Humboldt, Del Norte and Trinity counties, including McKinleyville, open six days a week and Bayshore Mall, open seven days a week.\u00a0 Additionally, members have access to a network of 30,000 free CO-OP ATMs nationwide.
