Sessa announced that its Board of Directors has approved $100,000 in grants through its Community Investment Program\u2019s spring round to 14 local organizations. A total of 54 non-profits had requested over $750,000.\u00a0 Coast Central also supports its communities through sponsorship, college scholarship, and employee volunteer programs.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Spring 2022 recipients include:<\/p>\n<p><u>Humboldt County<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>$15,000 Hospice of Humboldt<\/strong>; cargo van for donation pick ups<\/li>\n<li><strong>$12,475 NorCal Community Blood Bank<\/strong>; blood analysis devices<\/li>\n<li><strong>$10,000 Dream Quest<\/strong>; center for underprivileged youth (also serves Trinity County)<\/li>\n<li><strong>$7,500 Blue Lake Volunteer Fire Dept;<\/strong> technical training for emergency responders<\/li>\n<li><strong>$5,000 CASA of Humboldt;<\/strong> keyless entry\/lighting system<\/li>\n<li><strong>$5,000 Ferndale Police Dept;<\/strong> generator &amp; equipment for emergency response team<\/li>\n<li><strong>$5,000 Humboldt Trails Council<\/strong>; mower for trail maintenance<\/li>\n<li><strong>$5,000 Redway Elementary PTSA<\/strong>; soccer field renovation<\/li>\n<li><strong>$4,800 Eureka Woman\u2019s Club<\/strong>; whole milk for homeless shelters<\/li>\n<li><strong>$3,275 Mattole Restoration Council<\/strong>; radios for emergency communication<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>Del Norte County<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>$8,950 Gasquet Fire Protection District; <\/strong>cargo trailer for rescue gear<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>Trinity County<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>$8,000 Lewiston Community Services District; <\/strong>AED &amp; new gear for firefighters<\/li>\n<li><strong>$7,000 Weaverville Fire Protection; <\/strong>extractor\/washer\/dryer for carcinogen exposure<\/li>\n<li><strong>$3,000 Coffee Creek Volunteer Fire Dept; <\/strong>saw for accident rescues and fires<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith the number of requests nearly double what we received last fall, it is clear that the needs of our tri-county communities continue to increase, even in essential needs,\u201d Sessa stated. \u201cNine of our 14 recipients are critical rescue and medical-related, with another three focused on youth.\u00a0 I am very grateful to our membership, whose unwavering loyalty directly supports these extraordinary efforts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Coast Central Credit Union is the largest member-owned financial institution in the area, with $2.1 billion in assets, nearly 76,000 members, and operating 11 Member Services Branches throughout Humboldt, Del Norte and Trinity counties, including McKinleyville, open six days a week and Bayshore Mall, open seven days a week.\u00a0 Additionally, members have access to a network of 30,000 free CO-OP ATMs nationwide.
