{"id":11494,"date":"2023-01-31T22:44:48","date_gmt":"2023-01-31T22:44:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/coastccu1dev.wpenginepowered.com\/?p=11494"},"modified":"2024-08-15T22:27:42","modified_gmt":"2024-08-15T22:27:42","slug":"coast-central-donates-6000-to-northern-humboldt-high-school-projects","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.coastccu.org\/coast-central-donates-6000-to-northern-humboldt-high-school-projects\/","title":{"rendered":"Coast Central Donates $6,000 to Northern Humboldt High School Projects"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Coast Central announced that Arcata High and McKinleyville High Schools recently received donations for athletic projects through its sponsorship program.<\/p>\n<p>Arcata High had requested funds for a new portable scoreboard that could be used at all soccer and softball games.\u00a0 Principal Ron Perry stated, \u201cOur previous scoreboard was unrepairable, and a long-term replacement could not be installed in time for our girls\u2019 softball season this year. Additionally, our soccer teams had never had a scoreboard.\u00a0 Coast Central came through for our student athletes big-time.\u201d The school received $3,000 from CCCU.<\/p>\n<p>McKinleyville High had requested funds to improve its softball field.\u00a0 Girls\u2019 Softball Coach Drew Riddle had shared, \u201cOur outfield had become a safety hazard that required numerous hours of maintenance every season.\u00a0 The district had funded much of the field renovation, but funds were still needed for the softball area. We are so grateful for the $3,000 from Coast Central to complete the work.\u201d The field is also used for the school\u2019s PE classes as well as by Humboldt Fastpitch and the Lost Coast Chaos traveling softball team.<\/p>\n<p>Coast Central Credit Union is the largest member-owned financial institution in the area, with $2 billion in assets, over 76,000 members, and operating 11 Member Services Branches throughout Humboldt, Del Norte and Trinity counties, including McKinleyville, open six days a week and Bayshore Mall, open seven days a week.\u00a0 Individuals and businesses in those three counties are able to join online at coastccu.org\/join.
