Sessa announced that its Board of Directors has approved a total of $150,000 in grants to 24 local organizations, the highest number ever in the history of its 16-year-old Community Investment Program.\u00a0 A total of 87 non-profits had requested $1.1 million.\u00a0 Coast Central also supports its communities through sponsorships and college scholarships for a total of $650,000 annually throughout Humboldt, Del Norte, and Trinity counties.\u00a0 Additionally, Coast Central employees will contribute over 6,000 hours in volunteerism this year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Spring 2024 Grant Recipients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><u>Humboldt County<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>$20,000 Dream Quest<\/strong>; new center for youth in Willow Creek area<\/li>\n<li><strong>$10,000 Arcata House Partnership<\/strong>; hygiene kits for homeless<\/li>\n<li><strong>$10,000 Nation\u2019s Finest<\/strong>; new mattresses and carpet for homeless veterans<\/li>\n<li><strong>$8,000 Humboldt Bridges to Success;<\/strong> activities for children in crisis\/at-risk<\/li>\n<li><strong>$6,200 Arcata High Football;<\/strong> helmet replacement<\/li>\n<li><strong>$6,000 McKinleyville Youth Football &amp; Cheer<\/strong>; new safety helmets &amp; scholarships<\/li>\n<li><strong>$5,000 Bridgeville Community Center<\/strong>; books for 2,000 children ages 0 to 5<\/li>\n<li><strong>$5,000 CASA of Humboldt<\/strong>; educational and recreational activities for foster youth<\/li>\n<li><strong>$5,000 Humboldt Bay Fire CERT<\/strong>; emergency communications equipment<\/li>\n<li><strong>$5,000 Petrolia Volunteer Fire Department; <\/strong>training and supplies<\/li>\n<li><strong>$5,000 Pine Hill\/South Bay Family Resource Center; <\/strong>art supplies for youth in need<\/li>\n<li>$<strong>5,000 Redwood Acres Friends of the Fair;<\/strong> new animal stalls for FFA\/4-H youth<\/li>\n<li><strong>$5,000 Redwood Memorial Foundation; <\/strong>laundry vouchers for homeless families<\/li>\n<li><strong>$5,000 Salvation Army; <\/strong>food for homeless\/low-income families and seniors<\/li>\n<li><strong>$4,500 Cumbre Humboldt;<\/strong> swim lessons for Latinx youth<\/li>\n<li><strong>$4,157 Arcata CERT;<\/strong> emergency solar communications equipment<\/li>\n<li><strong>$3,588 ERV Community Center Foundation;<\/strong> bilingual AED<\/li>\n<li><strong>$3,015 Community United of North Arcata (CUNA);<\/strong> emergency supplies for homeless<\/li>\n<li><strong>$3,000 <\/strong><strong>Marshall Family Resource Center<\/strong><strong>;<\/strong> food and hygiene products for homeless children<\/li>\n<li><strong>$3,000 Play Street;<\/strong> therapeutic play equipment for youth with disabilities<\/li>\n<li><strong>$2,000 Big Brothers Big Sisters;<\/strong> supplies for mentor lunch program<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>Del Norte County<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>$10,000 Del Norte Little League; <\/strong>field improvements<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>Trinity County<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>$12,000 Trinity County Search &amp; Rescue; <\/strong>updated dive team equipment<\/li>\n<li><strong>$4,540 Watershed Research &amp; Training Center; <\/strong>safety supplies for youth<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cWe are truly honored to have the opportunity to impact 24 outstanding local organizations in our service areas with grants for their various projects, many of which are focused on supporting deserving youth,\u201d stated Sessa.\u00a0 \u201cWhen you bank with Coast Central, you directly support this and our other giving programs throughout the areas we serve.\u201d\u00a0 The fall round of grants opens August 1 at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coastccu.org\/community\/community-giving\/\">coastccu.org\/community\/community-giving<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Coast Central Credit Union is the largest member-owned financial institution in the area, with $2 billion in assets, over 78,000 members, and operating 11 Member Services Branches throughout Humboldt, Del Norte and Trinity counties, including McKinleyville, open six days a week and Bayshore Mall, open seven days a week.\u00a0 Additionally, members have access to a network of 30,000 free CO-OP ATMs nationwide.
