What Is a HELOC?<\/h2>\n

A HELOC lets you borrow from your home\u2019s equity whenever you need it\u2014for home upgrades, large expenses, or emergencies.<\/p>\n

How Does a HELOC Work?<\/h2>\n

Every HELOC has two phases:<\/p>\n

During this phase, you can borrow what you need, when you need it\u2014up to your credit limit\u2014and pay interest only on the amount you use. If you repay some or all of the principal, you can borrow it again\u2014much like a credit card. When this period ends, you will no longer be able to borrow additional funds.<\/p>\n
