Coast Central Credit Union President\/CEO James T. Sessa, announced that, together with generous support from its members, a total of $12,000 has been donated to fire relief efforts.<\/p>\n

Redding-based Shasta Regional Community Foundation Disaster Relief Fund (shastarcf.org) , a resource-building organization, is receiving $10,000 toward the short and long-term recovery of individuals and families affected by the Carr Fire. The fire has killed 8 people, destroyed nearly 1,100 homes and burned some 230,000 acres.<\/p>\n

North Coast Opportunities Wildfire Relief Fund (ncoinc.org) for Mendocino Complex Fire relief based in Ukiah is receiving a $2,000 donation. The Fund is providing continued support to those who have suffered fire-related losses in Lake or Mendocino counties. The Mendocino Complex Fire is the largest in California history, destroying 400,000 acres and over 150 homes.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur hearts go out to the numerous individuals and families affected by these devastating fires throughout our neighboring communities,\u201d Sessa stated. \u201cIn support of relief efforts, we\u2019ve been overwhelmed by the generosity of our membership. Individual donations have ranged from $5 to $300, and a Fortuna business donated over $700 from a recent fundraiser. Our members clearly care as deeply as we do about a \u2018people helping people\u2019 commitment.\u201d<\/p>\n

Donations will continue to be accepted at all Coast Central Member Services Branches, and 100% of all contributions will be awarded to deserving organizations in direct support of victims of the fires.<\/p>\n

Founded in 1950, Coast Central Credit Union is the largest member-owned financial institution on the North Coast. It has over 68,000 members and operates 12 Member Services Branches throughout Humboldt, Del Norte and Trinity counties, including McKinleyville and Bayshore Mall, which are open 7 days a week. Additionally, members have access to a network of 30,000 free ATMs nationwide.
